OF THE

FIFTH ANNUAL

LITTLE - JUNIOR MISS BUTLER COUNTY/AMERICA

1. ALL CONTESTANTS MUST BE OF AGE ON THE DAY OF COMPETITION

Junior Miss Butler County/America 11 - 12 - 13 - years old....March 29, 2008

Little Miss Butler County/America 8 - 9 - 10- years old.......March 29, 2008

2. DEADLINE DATES FOR APPLICATIONS AND ENTRANCE FEE OF $50.00

MUST BE IN HOUSE NO LATER THAN MARCH 12, 2008 (Date Extended)

3. MANDATORY REHEARSAL PLACE AT ST. PETERS CATHOLIC CHURCH HALL:
                    1:00 P.M.  SUNDAY - MARCH 16, 2008........LITTLE MISS CONTESTANTS
                    1:00 P.M. SUNDAY - MARCH 16, 2008........JUNIOR MISS CONTESTANTS

At this time your daughter will learn the opening number and modeling patterns for the sportswear and poise part of the competition.

Each contestant must be prepared to perform her talent in full costume with props. No changes will be permitted, the talent you perform at mandatory rehearsal is what you must compete with.

Each contestant must bring all outfits for approval. Please ask questions at this time, we will be happy to assist you.

4. MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL: FRIDAY MARCH 28, 2008 AT BUTLER COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE, in the SUCCOP THEATER AUDITORIUM AT 6:00 P.M.

5. TENTATIVE SCHEDULE FOR THE PAGEANTS:

LITTLE MISS & JUNIOR MISS.........SATURDAY, MARCH 29, 2008.....7:00 P.M.

6. ALL TICKETS ARE RESERVED SEATING, TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED AT THE MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL OR AT THE DOOR OR BY PHONE BY CALLING LUCY MUDRICK AT (724) 285-3345.

($10.00 PER TICKET FOR PAGEANT)

 

7. OPENING NUMBER ATTIRE:

LITTLE MISS..............................Denim shorts (school appropriate length), ROYAL BLUE Short Sleeve T-Shirt (ordered by director) - plain white pointy toe tennis shoes, white crew socks.

JUNIOR MISS..............................Denim capri pants - with HOT PINK T- shirt (ordered by director) and plain pointy toe tennis shoes and white crew socks.

(Contestants must purchase T shirt (with crown) from Director ----- Price $10.00

 

8. CASUAL WEAR ATTIRE:

LITTLE MISS................................Same as opening number.

JUNIOR MISS...............................Outfit of your choice - stylish - school outfit.

 

9. TALENT:

ATTIRE......................................All costuming must be age appropriate and coincide with the musical selection.

PROPS........................................All props must be fully operational and meaningful to the talent presentation.

TAPES OR CDS.........................You must have 2 high quality cassette tapes, cued and ready to go. Or CD’s with only your talent song on them. The talent song must be the only music on the tapes or CD’s so there is no confusion for the contestant or the tape technician. Each tape or CD must have written on it: Name of Contestant - Number of Contestant - Name of Song.

TIME OF TALENT................Talent must be a minimum of 1 minute. And not to exceed 2 minutes.

10. POISE AND APPEARANCE ATTIRE:

LITTLE MISS................................Short fancy party dress.

JUNIOR MISS................................Tea length or full length fancy gown

 

11. ON STAGE QUESTION: DURING THE POISE AND APPEARANCE PORTION OF THE COMPETITION EACH CONTESTANT WILL BE ASKED ONE (1) ON STAGE QUESTION.

 

12. LITTLE AND JUNIOR INTERVIEWS: EACH CONTESTANT WILL HAVE A SHORT INTERVIEW WITH THE PANEL OF JUDGES. YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED A TIME AT DRESS REHEARSAL. THESE INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD AT THE BUTLER COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE. YOU SHOULD WEAR A SUIT OR DRESS OUTFIT, APPROPRIATE FOR AN INTERVIEW.

 

13. ALL CONTESTANTS MUST BE OF GOOD MORAL CHARACTER, NOT USING FOUL LANGUAGE OR ENGAGING IN ANY ACTIVITY THAT IS NOT UPHOLDING THE STANDARDS OF MISS BUTLER COUNTY.

 

14. ALL CONTESTANTS AND PARENTS MUST FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS FROM CHOREOGRAPHER, DIRECTORS, STAGE CREW, AND STAFF WITH RESPECT AND COURTESY.

 

15. IT IS EXPECTED OF ALL PARENTS TO HELP US SET A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR ALL THE CHILDREN OF THE PAGEANT. SHOW RESPECT TO ALL, DO NOT TALK NEGATIVELY ABOUT ANYONE, BE HELPFUL AND KIND TO EVERYONE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

 

16. THE TITLE WINNERS MUST PERFORM AT THE MISS BUTLER COUNTY/MISS MORAINE STATE PAGEANT IN 2009.

 

17. THE TITLE WINNERS MUST RETURN THE FOLLOWING YEAR TO CROWN THE NEXT REIGNING LITTLE OR JUNIOR MISS BUTLER COUNTY/AMERICA.

 

18. ALL CONTESTANTS WILL BE ALLOWED 1 CHAPERONE BACK STAGE TO HELP THEM DURING THE PAGEANT. (Badges will be provided at dress rehearsal - only personnel with badges will be permitted back stage.)

 

19. NO REFUND OF ENTRANCE FEE WILL BE PERMITTED.

 

20. ALL PARENTS WHO OVERSTEP THE BOUNDS OF GOOD JUDGMENT WILL JEOPARDIZE THEIR CHILDREN PARTICIPATION IN THE PAGEANT. (Only personnel  with badges will be permitted back stage)

MISS BUTLER COUNTY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO EXPEL FROM THE COMPETITION ANY ENTRANT WHO DOES NOT ABIDE BY THE RULES AND REGULATIONS AS STATED AND AS ANNOUNCED HEREAFTER.
